About Chase.
Chase Haislip (he/him) is a Southern writer, director, and producer based in New Orleans. His work explores family, relationships, and generational trauma in the American South.
His films have been featured at the Sidewalk Film Festival, Macon Film Festival, Tryon Film Festival, among others.
He is a “Black List Recommended” writer. His most recent feature script, Queen Hereafter, was accepted into the Stowe Narrative Lab at Sidewalk. It explores legacies of violence in the Alabama lumber industry.
Chase is a member of Filmshop - a nonprofit collective of indie filmmakers committed to developing new work through peer support and collaboration.
Chase is a devotee to the “Southern Canon,” and a believer that telling honest, authentic, original stories is the best way to understand the South.
